KAMPALA — Ugandan entertainer and social media personality Master Parrot has died following a road accident along the Northern Bypass on Monday evening, according to reports from close associates and eyewitnesses.

News of his death spread rapidly across social media platforms, triggering an outpouring of grief from fans, fellow entertainers, and members of the public who described him as a vibrant figure in Uganda’s online entertainment scene.

Master Parrot, who became widely known for his humorous commentary, street interviews, and outspoken personality, built a strong following among young audiences through digital platforms. His content often blended comedy, social criticism, and everyday urban experiences, making him a recognizable voice in Uganda’s growing online media space.

Witnesses said the accident occurred during evening traffic along the busy bypass route, though official details surrounding the crash had not yet been fully released by authorities by press time. Police are expected to issue a formal statement after preliminary investigations into the incident.

Friends and supporters gathered online throughout the night to share tribute messages, photos, and videos celebrating his life and contribution to entertainment. Several described him as “fearless,” “creative,” and “deeply connected to ordinary people.”

“Master Parrot understood the language of the streets and knew how to connect with young people,” one mourner posted on X. “He made people laugh but also spoke about real issues affecting society.”

Over the years, Master Parrot gained popularity beyond entertainment circles, occasionally using his platforms to comment on social and community issues. His rise reflected the growing influence of independent digital creators in Uganda’s media landscape, where online personalities increasingly command audiences comparable to mainstream broadcasters.

His death comes at a time when concerns over road safety continue to dominate public debate in Uganda, particularly on major highways and bypass routes around Kampala that have recorded increasing accidents in recent years.

By late Monday, tributes continued pouring in from fans, bloggers, musicians, and media personalities, many expressing shock at the sudden loss.

Funeral arrangements had not yet been officially announced by family members by the time of publication.
