HISTORIC MILESTONE: First Direct Flights Between Russia and Tanzania Launch

Air Tanzania has officially launched the first-ever direct air link between Russia and Tanzania on July 2, 2026.
The national carrier will operate up to three weekly flights on the triangular route Dar es Salaam (DAR) – Moscow Vnukovo (VKO) – Zanzibar (ZNZ) using its flagship Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
Flight Highlights:
Non-stop outbound from Dar es Salaam to Moscow
Return flight includes a stop in the iconic Zanzibar
Service runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
This groundbreaking route is expected to dramatically boost tourism, trade, and bilateral relations between the two nations, opening easier access to Tanzania’s world-famous beaches, safaris, and cultural treasures for Russian travelers.
Fares are available starting from approximately USD 800 return, with generous baggage allowances.
