The FUFA Western Region Football League (WRFL) roars back into action this weekend as the much-anticipated second round kicks off with thrilling fixtures across the region.
Headlining the weekend is a Kigezi derby showdown as unbeaten table leaders Mutolore/SC Volcanoes travel to face Kabale City FC in what promises to be a fiercely contested clash. SC Volcanoes have been in sensational form this season and will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run and tighten their grip at the top of the table, while Kabale City FC will be eager to upset the leaders in front of their home fans.
In another exciting encounter, Gorilla Highlands SC, famously known as the Mountain Kings, will lock horns with the Makenke Barracks side from Mbarara City. The visiting warriors are expected to provide a tough test as both teams aim to begin the second round on a strong note.
These fixtures mark the opening matches of the second round of the WRFL, following the successful completion of the first round. The first round was highlighted by impressive performances from SC Volcanoes and Six O’clock FC, who both made notable runs in the Stanbic Uganda Cup, showcasing the growing competitiveness and quality of teams in the western region.
With rivalries renewed and points at stake, fans can expect intensity, passion, and high-quality football as the WRFL second round gets underway this weekend.
