Late Rajiv Ruparelia entered motor rally sport when the competitions were really very dull, because most of the the rally Giants such as the late Moses Muhangi, Riyaz Kirji, Gerald Kiddu,Emma Kato had already hang up their Motorsport helmets.
Ultimately, the coming of the new kid on Bloc, Rajiv Ruparelia Ruparelia was a blessing in disguise because it ignited new steam in the sport to the extent that some of us started to accompany him to rally events and paid to watch him hence making us new fans of the sport.
Rajiv worked tiressly to elevate the sport to another level using financial contributions through Ruparelia Foundation something which prompted the officials make him the patron of Central Motorsport club ( CMC)
The untimely demise of Rajiv Ruparelia left a big gap to rallying fraternity because Rajiv used to give an arm and leg in order to develop the sport in the country.
Every one thought that his departure to heaven meant the end of the world but his father billionaire Sudhir Ruparelia seams to be continuing his sons passion to the Motorsport when he went ahead to contribute Sh25m for Ponsiano Lwakataka persuit to acquire late Rajiv Volks Wagon Polo Proto for a paltry of Ush200m.
Late Rajiv Ruparelia bought the monster machine from Poland at a cost of Sh2billion, so the gesture of his father to give away the late legends car to a fellow legend, Ponsiano Lwakataka at minimal cost is a good gesture and a big boost to the development of Motorsport in the country and region at large.
