It was disturbing seeing our profound investor like Sudhir Ruparelia being harshly treated before the camera and public which dents his reputation that works as his capital.
Public insults targeting an investor can damage his personal credibility, which spills over to harm his companies that give thousands of jobs to Mzee Museveni Bazukkulu.
This loss of trust can reduce his stock value, deter his future business partners and at the same time signals a hostile or unstable economic climate that discourages National and foreign investments which are a cash cow to our budget revenues.
I have never seen General Yoweri Kaguta Museven violently addressing investors but chooses to use soft methods and diplomacy of which we should emulate.
Harshly engaging an investor doesnt only highlight poor communication manners but also undermines our countrys legal systems in shaping investment decisions.
Dr Sudhir Ruparelia is one of the most influencial champions of Uganda's investment potential according to grassroot Research firm, Public Opinion, employing thousands of Ugandans in sectors which span from Agriculture, Education real estate, Insurance, hospitality among others and therefore should be held in higher regard.
Our National investment laws clearly stupilates the rules for market entry and dispute Resolutions. Our public officials should use our investment Code Ach,2019,backed by the constitution of the Republic of Uganda which guards against unfair seizure of Property instead of using aggressive rudementary tactics which water down President Yoweri Museveni unwavering efforts in promoting investments in our country.
We should all condemn these regressive methods which potray us as un serious and uncompetitive country on global scene. This will prevent us from achieving our countrys ambitious Vision of attaining $500billion of GDP roughly 10 fold by the year 2040.
If there is impunity among some investors that needs to be handled professionaly, then the relevant authorities should establish a mult sector oversight committee instead of relying on single individual in order to prevent arbitrary rulings, distributes accountability and ensures fair checks and balances.
