AFRICA COFFEE PARK, AN INDUSTRIAL COFFEE HUB TO CHANGE THE LIFE OF COFFEE FARMERS IN UGANDA.

By Moses Rwamigoye

Africa Coffee Park officially known as the Inspire Africa Coffee Park, is a transformative agro-industrial project situated in Rwashamaire Town Council, Ntungamo District, Southwestern Uganda. From its inception to date it has been supported by the Government of Uganda aiming to revolutionize to the country’s coffee sector in what President Museveni Yoweri Kaguta calls comprehensive value addition. Honestly, the main purpose of this project is to process coffee into a variety of high-value products, including instant coffee, drip coffee, malt coffee, and coffee energy drinks among others.

So far, Inspire Africa Coffee has already processed roasted whole beans, drip coffee bags, espresso capsules, and Haraka instant coffee, alongside coffee beauty cosmetics. According to CEO Inspire Africa Coffee Dr. Nelson Tugume, this project is intended to enhance Uganda’s coffee value chain, increase export revenues, create employment opportunities, Coffee tourism and improve farm gate prices for local farmers.

The Ntungamo- Rwashamaire Coffee park is not only an industrial facility but also a community-centric project. It is set to gather graded coffee from local farmers and coffee traders/ Associations in the Ankole, Kigezi, and Rwenzori regions, process it into final products, and package it for local consumption and export. The initiative includes plans for a coffee resort, demonstration rooms, and other facilities aimed at promoting coffee tourism and education. As we speak, a modern conference is under construction on the lake shores of Lake Nyabihoko, Ntungamo. Furthermore, Capsule cottages are also under construction on the hill joining Lake Nyabihoko. These capsule cottages will provide modern accommodation to coffee tourists coming across the world.

Mr. Tugume Nelson, CEO Inspire Africa Coffee , has regularly thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni his immense support whenever contacted and for believing in him when the dream to put up a Coffee industrial hub seemed impossible and above all in Ntungamo, a location perceived to be with minimal coffee farmers.

Dr. Nelson Tugume has regularly implored the Ntungamo citizens, especially people of Rwashamaire to support the coffee industrial hub, saying its them to benefit first. Frankly, the facility will provide employment opportunities and other related services established by the facility. Speaking with Dr. Nelson Tugume on 8th August 2026, the day Inspire Africa Coffee hosted Great African Autocross Round 4, Tugume confirmed to rally drivers that more and more good things are on the way coming for Rwashamaire community.

Dr. Nelson Tugume also informed journalist prices of plots of land in Rwashamaire and its neighboring areas have rapidly increased because of the increasing population in area. I can predict that if all goes on well according to our project plans, in few years to come Rwashamaire will be one of the tourist urban centers in Uganda.

Foristance, next year Rwashamaire will make history since Inspire Africa Coffee industrial hub will be hosting international coffee marathon. According to Nelson Tugume, the international coffee marathon will bring in foreign currency since various foreign nations will be represented in a large number.

When asked on how far has Inspire Africa Coffee industrial hub has gone with internal coffee products promotion, Dr. Nelson Tugume noted that the next phase is to introduce Institution Coffee Clubs like Brazil did in 1930s when it started manufacturing Coffee whitener and powdered coffee creamer, with the purpose of targeting students. It was from that marketing scheme that Brazil consumes 60% of its coffee. Therefore, its better and important to influence our young people in education institutions, secondary schools and primary schools importance of growing coffee and its future benefits.

Initially, because of its quality, a lot of Uganda’s coffee would be exported unprocessed with the purpose of blending it with other coffee collected from other nations ever since Inspire Africa Coffee started producing coffee products, at least on the world market Uganda’s coffee can be recognized. Foristance, Inspire Africa Coffee has marketed Uganda’s coffee in USA, UK, Russia(Balkan States), Vietnam, and in international business summits like UK-Africa Business Summit.

Dr. NELSON TUGUME IS A VISIONARY MAN BBEHIND UGANDA’S COFFEE VALUE ADDITION and AN INTERNAL ACOFFEE AFICIONADO.
