By Prof. Lawrence Muganga
Dear Members of the Victoria University Family and Fellow Ugandans,
As we come to the end of 2025 and prepare to step into 2026, warm greetings to you and your loved ones. This moment invites us to pause, reflect, and enter the new year with renewed faith, fresh energy, and a clear commitment to building a better future for our families and our country.
Many people have carried heavy burdens in 2025. Some experienced loss, disappointment, or deep uncertainty. If you are among them, please accept my heartfelt empathy. What happened to you is not the end of your story. May the year ahead bring healing, strength, open doors, and the support you need to move forward with hope.
As a Victoria University community, we have kept going through both challenges and progress. We have chosen courage, discipline, and teamwork. As we approach 2026, let us also choose innovation, not as a slogan, but as a way of thinking and acting. Uganda needs graduates who can identify problems clearly, build practical solutions, and create value for society.
To all Ugandans
As we approach the national elections on January 15, 2026, every citizen has a role to play. Please participate peacefully and responsibly, with respect for one another and love for Uganda. Let us reject violence, hate, and division, and instead model maturity, unity, and national purpose. May God guide our nation and grant us leaders who serve with integrity, justice, and compassion.
*To our students*
You are the reason Victoria University exists, and you carry the hopes of many families. As you prepare to enter 2026, commit yourself to growth in character, skill, and mindset. Education is more than passing exams. It is learning how to think, how to build, and how to solve.
Let 2026 be the year you become more intentional. Be curious. Be disciplined. Learn to work in teams. Use your knowledge to create solutions for real community and industry challenges. The future belongs to those who can turn ideas into useful outcomes.
To our staff, parents, and guardians
To our staff, thank you for your commitment, patience, and daily sacrifice. Your work shapes lives, strengthens our standards, and keeps our mission alive. As we head into 2026, let us keep teaching with purpose, leading with empathy, and serving students with excellence.
To parents and guardians, thank you for trusting us with your sons and daughters. This trust is not taken lightly. We recommit ourselves to providing education that is practical, values based, and aligned with the needs of the modern world. Together, we will raise a generation of responsible citizens, innovators, and builders of our nation.
To our alumni, partners, and our prayer
To our alumni, partners, and stakeholders, thank you for walking with us. Your support, collaboration, and belief in our vision strengthens our impact. In 2026, we will deepen partnerships, strengthen hands on learning, and expand opportunities that help students become creators and problem solvers who can compete globally and serve locally.
As we step into 2026, may peace fill your home, and may love guide your decisions. May every setback of 2025 become wisdom for 2026. May God uplift every family, provide for every need, and bless our work with meaning and results.
Happy New Year in advance, and may 2026 be a year of progress, healing, and purpose for you and for Uganda.
