Merina Country Villas to Host Women’s Day Special with Live Band Performance

WAKISO – Merina Country Villas has unveiled plans for a vibrant celebration to mark International Women’s Day, with a special event scheduled for Thursday, March 8, 2026, at its premises in Wakiso.

According to the promotional announcement, the Women’s Day Special will feature live entertainment headlined by the popular Onestop Band, alongside a variety of side attractions designed to cater for families and revelers alike.

Organizers say the event will offer free entry to all guests, positioning it as an inclusive celebration aimed at honoring women while bringing together the wider community. Activities lined up include live DJ mixes, a boat cruise experience, assorted foods and drinks, as well as games for children.

The event is expected to attract residents from Wakiso and neighboring areas, given the growing popularity of themed social gatherings at the venue. Merina Country Villas, located in Nkoowe behind Wakiso Moslem Secondary School, has in recent years hosted a series of entertainment and leisure events targeting families and corporate groups.

Speaking about the upcoming celebration, organizers noted that International Women’s Day presents an opportunity to appreciate the achievements and contributions of women across all sectors of society. The addition of a live band performance is expected to add a lively musical atmosphere to the day’s festivities.

Reservations for tables and other arrangements are currently open, with management encouraging early bookings due to anticipated high turnout.
