Western Region Football Association Unveils New Executive Committee to Boost Regional Football.

Mbarara: Regional governing body for western Uganda Football has unveiled the new Executive committee which will lead the association for the next 4 years.

 

The announcement which was made by the General secretary WRFL,Miss Nalwanga Berthyline came on March 10, 2026, after the electoral assembly and nomination process.

The new executive committee will run the Western Region football affairs for the 2025‑2029 term.

 

The incumbent Mr Mutaka Sseka from Mbarara DFA has been named Chairperson, taking charge of the whole league operations. Mr Jarc Tusiime steps in as the 1st Vice Chairperson and also leads the Marketing and Communications wing.

The full executive lineup includes eight members who will start work immediately. Mr Ndayambaje Alex from Kisoro DFA will also  serves as a Vice Chairperson. Other Committee Members are Turyamureeba Paul (Rubirizi DFA), Amanya Dan (Ntungamo DFA), Nankunda Glorious handling women football, Tayebwa Brendah (Rukungiri DFA), Tumwakire Martin (Kabale DFA), and Mugabi Thodius (Bushenyi DFA).

 

Standing committees have been set to manage specific areas. The finance committee is chaired by Amanya Dan. The competitions committee is run by Mugabe Thodius with Mushabe Arnold serving  as a secretary. The Marketing and Communications department will be handled by Jarc Tusiime .

 

Special provincial setups include the Ankole Province football development led by Mr Ssempijja Faizo, Mr Ndayambaje Alex leading Football development in Kigezi province with Mutaka Sseka taking over the Licencing board Docket.

 

Other roles cover refereeing, player licensing, and fitness monitoring, involving Kwerebera Bashir, Kakooza Emmy, Ngendo Gilbert, and Mukama Moses Bukenya.

 

The association expects the new team to push “Play Fair” values, improve competitions, lift women’s football, and develop talent across districts from the two provinces of Ankole and Kigezi aiming at makeing the Western Region a football powerhouse in the next four years.
