FRONASA WOMAN IN MBARARA CITY ON NRM TICKET DEFEATS FDC FLAG BEARER IN WOMEN COUNCIL ELECTIONS.

After Uganda Electoral Commission had set 23rd July 2026 as the real date for Women Council elections across the country in all villages, all political parties started strategizing and monitoring the ground.

For all women who had yearned these elections started preparing for ground mobilization in their respective villages. In mbarara city where NRM is perceived as the dominant political party, things almost changed in some villages. Foristance, in mbarara City North Division – Kakiika Cell, a village where Kaaka Kokundeka Esteri (RIP) used to reside before ascending to heaven, women council election became hot and NRM women were forced to request the assistance of Charity Kibaaju, current Woman MP Mbarara City.

 

Speaking with Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet who won the Chairperson position of Kakiika Cell, she asserts that her victory came from the mass mobilization conducted by herself and other women affiliated to the NRM. However, she also said that money is seriously killing the loyalty local citizens had with NRM. A big percentage of people these days tend to be influenced by money on the day of voting . Nothing embarrasses a candidate like seeing his/her voters being channeled just because of ugx5000#.

 

In the hot village women council elections of Kakiika Cell, the NRM flag bearer Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet managed to defeat Madam Kutesa Alice of FDC and Mrs Jovia Matsiko who contested as Independent. The scores went like this; Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet got 48 votes, Kutesa Alice got 31 votes and lastly the independent candidate Jovia Matsiko got 29 votes.

 

BIOGRAPHY OF NALONGO ASIIMWE JULIET .

Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet was born in 1972 in Bubaare Kashari – Mbarara District. His father was a prominent businessman Late Zabroni Kutayo. In the regime of President Idi Amin Dada, Late Kutayo Zabroni survived abduction and murder by Amin’s soldiers on grounds of being a Front for National Salvation. (FRONASA) clandestine operator and facilitator.

In fact, his contemporaries and business diehards such as Lukare, Baryamujura and Nkore were abducted and murdered and until to date their remains have never been seen.

Suddenly, Zabroni Kutayo died a natural death in 1980 and hence leaving his name and identity as a complete member of FRONASA club.

 

JOINING FRONT FOR NATIONAL SALVATION (FRONASA). 

One day, Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet was invited to attend a FRONASA meeting in mbarara and it was Late Afande Apollo Mabaati, former FRONASA National Chairman who had organized the meeting. 

In the due course of the meeting, Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet found herself as a person with all requirements needed to be a member of FRONASA fraternity. Later after the meeting had ended, Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet decided to Mbarara FRONASA Veterans SACO. Since then, she has been a strong member of FRONASA. This means that Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet join FRONASA fraternity on the grounds of being a child of FRONASA clandestine operator.

Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet has regularly interacted with FRONASA National Political Commissar, Afande Matovu Vianney Ngoma on matters concerning development of FRONASA VETERANS SACO and political mentorship on the side of governance and leadership.

On the other hand, Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet has also attained leadership and patriotism cadre courses in Kyankwanzi National Leadership Institute and Kaweweta Military Training School.

 

LEADERSHIP.

Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet has been a strong NRM cadre and a regular grassroot mobilizer of NRM, especially for President Yoweri Museveni and other many NRM political leaders in greater mbarara. 

Away from being a strong NRM cadre and mobilizer, Nalongo Asiimwe Juliet serves as NRM Secretary General Entrepreneur League-Mbarara City and she was a strong supporter of Dr. Hassan Basajjabalaba in last NRM Entrepreneurs League CEC elections.
