ANKOLE CUP: FOOTBALL DIEHARDS IN KIRUHURA PRAISE CHAIRMAN ODREK RWABWOGO FOR HIS PHILANTHROPIC WORK.

As we all know that Ankole sub region is enjoying a sensational tournament involving all Districts that forms Ankole Sub region umbrella, honestly football lovers in the sub region can testify that the tournament titled ANKOLE CUP 2026 EDITION has raised the Ankole football states quo to another level. 

 

From the start of Ankole cup 2026 edition, Kiruhura District Team was perceived as a toddler or underdog team in group B that comprised of District teams ; Kazo District Football Team, Ibanda District Football Team and the mighty Kiruhura District Football Team a.k.a “THE BULLS”. Surprisingly, Kiruhura shocked many people after finishing at the top in group B.

 

We can’t say that Kiruhura is lucky but what people should know is that Kiruhura District Football Team plays tremendous football. The team has talented young footballers who prefers to entertain spectators.

Despite Kiruhura having incredible key players like Kato, Hassan, Ashimu and Muguta, any person who has attended Kiruhura team playing can confirm that the entire team is perfect and united.

 

Besides the team having young talented footballers, honestly speaking the management of the team has also done a great work towards the success of Kiruhura Football Team so far. The supreme team coordinator Chairman Dan Mukago and Muhwezi Innocent the team Chairman have done a remarkable work. Additionally, Finance manager of the team, Mr. Hakim Nyanga , Councilor Luki Luki , Media team and the Team Manager/Coach Igga Ismail have sacrificed for the team’s success.

 

Also as we all know that fun base strengthens team and gives players much confidence, Kiruhura’s football team success is also attributed to heavy routinely spectators whenever there is a match both home and way. Frankly, people like Chairman Nkesiga Moses Kamiisi, NRM Chairperson Kiruhura District, Diary Farmer Tayebwa Rutamwebwa, Mushereru James Rujoki , Chairman Nzaire Kaguta , District Councilors , Mr. Charles DISO Kiruhura District and the office of RDC kiruhura have really supported the team. 

 

As we speak, Kiruhura will be playing Ibanda on semi finals on 2nd August 2026 on a neutral ground in Bushenyi . Remember, in group stages Ibanda survived Kiruhura with a double draw home and away. At St. Georges it was 1:1 and whereas in kiruhura at Sanga all teams finished the match goalless.

As we all know that football management is a a such expensive business, all people and companies who have help Kiruhura football team in all ways to see it attaining its agenda deserves a great thankful applause. Wholeheartedly on a special note, the entire football team of Kiruhura, management and fan base praises the Chairperson of PACEID, Mr. Odrek Rwabwogo for bearing a great patriotic and philanthropist heart. It’s on record that Chairman Odrek Rwabwogo sponsored Kiruhura football team at the start of the tournament with a full set of uniform for both home and away matches.

Above all, Chairman Odrek Rwabwogo went on and gave a financial support amounting to Ugx10m in cash to push up the needs of the players. 

Surprisingly, Chairman Odrek Rwabwogo Rwabwogo has also went ahead to provide milk to footballers for energy boosting. On this note, a great serious applause goes to milkman factory located in Rushere , Kinoni road. Even last Sunday when Kiruhura qualified for semi finals after eliminating Buhweju at Sanga play ground, Chairman Odrek Rwabwogo rewarded both teams with refreshment facilitation amounting to ugx500,000#. 

 

Furthermore on sponsorship records, the management of kiruhura District Football Team also thanks its leaders beginning with all three MPS ; Hon Wilson Kajwengye MP Nyabushozi, Hon Genesio Tumuramye, MP Kashongi and Hon Ruth Rujoki Mushabe, Woman MP KIruhura.

 

Surely these three people have done a tremendous work towards the success of kiruhura football team. Additionally, Ambassador Fred Mwesigye and his darling Wife NRM NEC member Enid Mwesigye have also tried their best to see the team’s success. 

NB; Hon Jovanice Rwenduru also deserves a great applause since she was among the first people to contribute for the team. Kiruhura football team also thanks Simba Cement for providing a travel jersey for the entire team.

 

So far we have done better but we still have war to end. We thank God for the success we have achieved but we shall celebrate we lift the trophy . I pray to God to continue giving our team unity, togetherness and discipline. We still need more financial support and assistance.
