Kampala, Uganda — Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) has officially confirmed the appointment of Hussein Mbalangu as the club’s new head coach, marking a significant step in its preparations for the upcoming season.

The club announced the decision on Tuesday, stating that Mbalangu will take charge with immediate effect. He replaces the outgoing technical team as URA FC seeks renewed direction and improved performances in domestic competitions.

Mbalangu, one of Uganda’s most experienced and respected coaches, brings a wealth of top-flight experience to the Tax Collectors. Over the years, he has managed several Uganda Premier League sides and is widely recognized for his tactical discipline, player development skills, and ability to rebuild competitive squads.

In a brief statement, URA FC management said the appointment was based on Mbalangu’s “proven track record, leadership qualities, and deep understanding of Ugandan football,” adding that the club is confident he can guide the team toward challenging for silverware.

The new head coach is expected to work closely with the club’s technical and scouting departments as preparations begin, including player assessments, potential signings, and pre-season training plans.

URA FC finished the previous campaign outside the title race and has since signaled its intention to return to contention. Supporters will be hoping Mbalangu’s arrival ushers in a more consistent and competitive era for the club.

Further details regarding the length of Mbalangu’s contract and his technical staff are expected to be communicated by the club in the coming days.
