KENTIM Institute Of Innovations, Science & Technology Opens Semester One 2026 Enrollment With Focus On Practical Skills And Innovation

KAMPALA — KENTIM Institute of Innovations Science & Technology (KIIST) has officially launched enrollment for Semester One 2026, unveiling a broad range of diploma, certificate and hands-on vocational training programmes aimed at equipping students with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

Located at the Kentim University Complex on Plot 5460 Kisaasi–Kyanja Road in Kampala, the institution is positioning itself as a growing centre for innovation-driven education, particularly in agriculture, business and technology-related fields.

According to information released by the institute, the Department of Agro-Vet Studies will offer National Diplomas in Animal Health, Animal Production and Management, Crop Production and Management, and Agro-Business, alongside a National Certificate in Agriculture Production.

The institute says the programmes are designed to strengthen modern farming knowledge and address the increasing demand for skilled professionals in Uganda’s agriculture sector, which remains one of the country’s largest sources of employment.

In addition to classroom learning, KIIST has also introduced practical short courses conducted at the Kentim University Farm. The hands-on programmes will cover livestock management, including dairy farming, poultry keeping, goat rearing, rabbitry and apiculture, as well as crop management and nursery bed management. Participants are expected to receive Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) certificates upon completion.

Under the Department of Business and Entrepreneurship, students can enroll for diploma and certificate programmes in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, Hotel and Institutional Catering, Information Communication Technology, and Cosmetology and Beauty Therapy.

The institute is also promoting practical ICT and technical skills through short courses in office applications, AI fundamentals, graphic design, computer hardware maintenance and repair, fashion and design, hairdressing, baking and cookery.

Education experts have increasingly emphasized the importance of practical and vocational training in addressing youth unemployment and preparing young people for self-reliance. Institutions offering competence-based learning models continue to attract interest from students seeking skills directly applicable to the labour market.

Enrollment for Semester One 2026 is currently ongoing, with institute administrators encouraging interested applicants to apply early.
